This photograph Mt. McKinley was taken from a plane operated by K2 Aviation. We had to fly well above the clouds to see the summit. From this flight location we are about 7 miles from the mountain. This photograph Mt. McKinley was taken from a plane operated by K2 Aviation. The mountain does not seem as overwhelming when you see it up close. You can see from this approach that the south peak (rounded top area) is certainly higher (20,320 ft.) than the north peak (to the right @ 19,470 ft.). From this flight location we are about 5 miles from the mountain.
